Immunisation
- We follow the Australian Immunisation requirements and follow up with reminder letters when their next immunisation is due.
- All children should be immunised against all the major childhood diseases.
- Remember to bring your child’s Health Centre Book and Medicare card to assist updating your child’s Immunisation record.
- Bexsero is the first vaccine to help protect against group B (Men B) which causes over 80% of meningococcal disease in Australia and over 90% of meningococcal disease in infants. Unfortunately for now, this vaccine will not be included as a 'free' vaccine on the schedule and will need to be purchased as a private vaccine
Adult immunisation and travel vaccinations
- Adults should consider immunisation against hepatitis A and B and influenza
- Adults should ensure their tetanus is up-to-date and that they have received adequate measles, mumps and rubella coverage
- Combination whooping cough and tetanus vaccination is recommended particularly if working with babies or having a baby/grandchild
- Dedicated Flu clinics operate for two months prior to flu season, as part of our medical services. We provide flexible times to fit in with work commitments.
- Injection/s with little to no waiting time
- We recommend talking to us for travel advice and vaccinations if needed, at least 6-8 weeks prior to travel.
- This advice will take into account your itinerary, style of accommodation, activities while travelling, medical history and allergies.
- Assessment of malaria risk and strategies to prevent other insect-borne disease. Vaccines are usually on site.
- Allow 20 minutes time after consultation.
- Bring your travel itinerary, vaccinations records, details of any medication you are regularly or intermittently taking.
